Harris Teeter Triples – Week Long Event!

Even my husband knew how excited this would make me – he carefully laid the ad “just so” I would see it first thing when walking in the kitchen yesterday morning.

As an added bonus, the couponers at Hot Coupon World have been working on the list for several days. (And here I was, all caught up in Bloom triples…)

Anyway, a wonderful HCW poster by the name of Cmricha2 started a spreadsheet for the sale. I used that as a base (with many additions and modifications to the formulas) and created a similar Harris Teeter spreadsheet for the Hampton Roads area. Of note, I should mention when looking up prices (using the Hanbury Rd. Express Lane) I found that our prices are actually lower in most cases from the original lists on Hot Coupon World. That’s fairly unusual! I haven’t finished verifying the coupon values, and to be honest, I didn’t include most of the RedPlum coupons since I no longer get them.

Bloom Savings – Day 2 – 3/21/09

Since I spent the morning garage sale-ing with my husband I didn’t get around to going to Bloom until early evening. The Bloom at Centerville & Mt. Pleasant was reasonably well stocked.

I used 20 coupons and spent $1.52. Here’s what I got:

What a deal! I had to buy the chips to bring me to the plus side! $1.52 total.

What a deal! I had to buy the chips to bring me to the plus side! $1.52 total.

With so many items generating overages, I let my son pick out some chips (we still have a lot of free sour cream from the last triples!). The chips were at least on sale (2/$5).

Of note: the cashier was concerned about the IP, and called the manager on duty to make sure it wasn’t a copy. I’m glad they are checking them, I hate to think people cheating will cause them to not accept them anymore. I may even take an expired coupon and make copies so they can hang them on the wall and see what the differences are.

Survey Sites that Pay, prescreened by HotCouponWorld

One of the hottest topics in the couponing world these days is getting paid to take surveys. I just had two different people ask me about survey sites in the past week and didn’t have an answer. My experience with survey sites had been limited to a sampling site that I joined years ago.

But now the homework has been done (by other people, no less) and there is a list of 19 LEGIT sites on HotCouponWorld that pay out and have little or no spam — making them a great way to earn a little extra money.

That’s one of the reasons I love HotCouponWorld so much, the research is done for you, giving you the opportunity to move forward with the information.

A tip from the Pros: create an email address that you use just for surveys (i.e., dollysurveys@gmail.com) and use it to keep your survey mail separate. You can also create a “rule” in your email program to automatically file emails from specific addresses into specific folders. It will help to keep you organized and keep your registration info easily accessible.

Click here to check out the list of 19 survey sites that pay from HotCouponWorld.

Choose Your Own Valentine’s Day Gift in HotCoupon World’s Latest Contest

HotCouponWorld is having a contest just in time for Valentine’s Day.

You’ve seen them mentioned in this blog before, because HotCouponWorld is one of my very favorite resources for couponing. I even have it listed as a resource on my Dolly Domestic business cards.

Anyway, the contest lets five HotCouponWorld members pick their Valentine’s gift this year, up to $50 per prize, not including shipping.

If you know me, you’ll know I’m entering. It doesn’t cost anything to enter, and as with any good contest, you can’t win if you don’t enter. (Ask me about the $15,000 I won from a radio station years ago… they don’t call me lucky for nothin’.)

You can find the contest details at this link: http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/announcements/203568-hcws-valentines-day-contest-enter-2-13-win.html

You must be registered to win – even new members can enter, so click on over to HotCouponWorld and register right now. The contest ends on Friday, February 13th at midnight Pacific time.

— Good Luck!
