Bloom Shopping Results

I’m sure glad Bloom is close. I’ve made 3 more trips. My husband told me I did “pretty good” and qualified that by saying it wasn’t like my trips in the past where I came home having only spent a few bucks. I still think I’m doing great.

You can find the matchup list for Bloom super doubles here.

First trip Saturday, $22.18.

2nd trip Saturday, $4.48

Sunday trip, $18.81.

I’m thrilled that I bought that second-hand freezer a few weeks ago, else I’d never have been able to stock up on this stuff. Considering all of the above cost about $45, I think I did better than “pretty good,” but I see my husband’s point. Mostly luxury items, convenience products, etc. I guess I would have really saved, had I bought none of it.   Nah….

The fryer chickens are a good deal this week at only 79¢ a pound. The one I got was a big one, over 5 pounds, and had a fairly small neck and no other “innards” packed inside.

Recent Harris Teeter Trips

I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to post my latest results.

Starting back on August 18, at Harris Teeter I got this:

My total was lower than expected because the General Mills deal rolled between transactions and I got an extra $5 off. Couldn't even use my last coupon! My total was only 80 cents!

The next day at Harris Teeter (the 19th), I got:

I spent a whopping $8.98 on this table full of food.

Next up: Harris Teeter, September 20 -

(running downstairs to grab the receipt) Ta da! $1.03. Another GM discount, so I had to grab the canned green beans to bring my ticket to the positive side.

I did 2 more trips to Harris Teeter, but didn’t take photos, more of the same mostly. I did get one more of the $5 GM discounts and had to buy an inexpensive bottle of wine to take me to the positive side.

My teenage boys are LOVING the pizza rolls. Great snack, and really cheap with the coupons. Good thing I bought that freezer last week!

Word on the street is that Harris Teeter is doing super doubles starting Wednesday, September 30th.

Coupon Shopping Brag Post

I *love* triple coupons. I went shopping after Bunko Thursday night — both to Harris Teeter and to take advantage of the double-dollar coupons at Farm Fresh.

Total cost, including the 10 bottles of Diet Pepsi=$13.34

Farm Fresh -- $15.38, good, but not nearly as impressive as usual.

It took my kids only a few minutes to realize there were frozen pizzas and hot pockets in the freezer. How come they never seem to notice when the trash needs to go out?

Day 12 – AYGC

Another day of no spending, and since we were at my in-laws, all meals were provided. The dinner was fabulous — a bounty of wall-eye fish that my father in-law caught in Lake Erie and had in the freezer.

Day 9 – AYGC

I finally did some shopping today! Spent $14.35, mostly on perishables like bread, milk, eggs and meat (steak again, into the freezer). And ice cream. Generic. And two 2-liter bottles of generic diet cola.  There were other items, but they were freebies with coupons.

The french bread was free with a survey code. About every 4th or 5th trip to Farm Fresh I get a survey form. Call the 800#, take the survey over the phone and they give you a code for a free loaf of bread.

The reason for the french bread was to go with our dinner of spaghetti and meatballs. We also had a nice tossed salad. All from stuff we had on hand. I even nabbed a tomato from the garden. They’re FINALLY starting to get ripe. Looks like I’ll get mostly zebra tomatoes.

I also exchanged my expired Fuel Express tickets for a new one, since I needed gas. I’d been told by someone at the store that they would do that and decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised. However a good friend of mine tried it also and two different people told her it couldn’t be done. Go figure.

Even better… there was a nice older man overseeing the gas station and he cleaned my windshield for me. Too cool.
