Day 3 of Harris Teeter Triples — still lots of great deals to be had!

I spent $2.97 today, $10.83 yesterday, and $4.43 on Wednesday. My receipt from Thursday is around somewhere…

Here’s what I got today for under $3:

In the foreground I even got a catalina for 50 cents off my next purchase (which will be tomorrow).

In all honesty, this trip’s total should have been a bit higher (by about a buck). Not sure why it wasn’t, but it makes up for the errors on the previous 3 trips, each one had coupons that didn’t triple correctly, which tends to happen when the coupon is for a purchase of more than one item, the first trip was several dollars higher than it should have been. I figure it balances out.

Recent Harris Teeter Trips

I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to post my latest results.

Starting back on August 18, at Harris Teeter I got this:

My total was lower than expected because the General Mills deal rolled between transactions and I got an extra $5 off. Couldn't even use my last coupon! My total was only 80 cents!

The next day at Harris Teeter (the 19th), I got:

I spent a whopping $8.98 on this table full of food.

Next up: Harris Teeter, September 20 –

(running downstairs to grab the receipt) Ta da! $1.03. Another GM discount, so I had to grab the canned green beans to bring my ticket to the positive side.

I did 2 more trips to Harris Teeter, but didn’t take photos, more of the same mostly. I did get one more of the $5 GM discounts and had to buy an inexpensive bottle of wine to take me to the positive side.

My teenage boys are LOVING the pizza rolls. Great snack, and really cheap with the coupons. Good thing I bought that freezer last week!

Word on the street is that Harris Teeter is doing super doubles starting Wednesday, September 30th.

Day 17 – AYGC

Another day of mooching off the in-laws. (It’s 600 miles away, so it’s not like we could go home for meals.) After a very late breakfast we all (excluding Andy) trekked out to do a bit of shopping at Walmart. I did actually spent about a buck and a half (receipt is around somewhere) on some Pocky for Andy. At home I get it at the commissary for about 85¢, but it was over a buck in Ohio. Andy has been a total trooper — not complaining AT ALL about being dragged to Ohio for a week with no other kids around. So a treat was in order.

After shopping my father in-law treated us all to ice cream. Yum! I had butter pecan, which I haven’t had in decades. There was so much to choose from that I simply picked the first thing on the list.

We went out for dinner, also compliments of my father in-law, at a Chinese restaurant. Good food. Good conversation. I think we were all savoring our last night together.

Day 13 – AYGC

I knew tonight was going to kill our budget… it was my father in-law’s 75th birthday, which was the reason for our trip to Ohio. His brother and his wife flew out from California and his sister flew in from Texas to help celebrate — so we went out for dinner… and we picked up the tab. Even if we only calculated the meals by my husband, my son and me, I think we went over. Hubby has the receipt in his wallet. I have to do the math yet, and will get to that once we get home.

Even if we went over budget this week, I’m still going to keep “playing.” It’s a personal challenge for me. Back in February or March I’d challenged myself to not spend more than $100 in groceries for the MONTH, and I was only $20 over, and most of the money I’d spent was on soft drinks. (BTW, that $100 was including household goods and personal products.)

Day 3 – AYGC

Leftovers for dinner tonight. I had a bunko game, so I just had snacks there. (I won $40 at bunko!)

Since it was Wednesday, I used the list at TheCouponConsultant for my Farm Fresh shopping trip. I tend to go late at night. It works out for me, since there’s nearly nobody in the store and they’ve started stocking the shelves for the next day, so anything that had sold out during the day has usually already been replenished.

Here’s what I got today… for  $3.41

A point of clarification: My receipt total was $15.41, but they refunded $12. The Raisin Bran rang up wrong and the Farm Fresh policy is to give you the item for free if it rings up wrong. (it had rung up at $4.39, instead of $3, so they refunded the 4.39×2+tax = $9, and 3 coupons didn’t double, so they gave me cash back on those too.

See, cash!

The raisin bran (at least part of one box) and the buttermilk are for an awesome raisin bran muffin recipe my sister made for me a few weeks ago. I’m making ’em tomorrow.
