Saving money in the garden
If you’re like me, your tomato plants are getting big and gangly. To save money, instead of twine or specialty items from the garden store, use old pantyhose to tie them to their cage or trellis. Just snip the stockings into about 1″ hoops. You can leave them in rings or snip them the make soft, stretchy strips (size will depend on size of stockings and whether pieces are cut from the foot or the thigh). These hold up well in the sun and just take a quick snip to remove at the end of tomato season.
